Angela Greenaway, a Replenishment Assistant at Gatwick North Main, previously worked at the airport selling tickets that gave customers a chance to win sports cars. She enjoyed the environment, but wanted more of a challenge. Now she’s working hours that she loves – 7.00 am to 3.30 pm – and finds she has more time to herself at the end of a busy day.
“I was delighted to get the job. Originally, I was working in the sunglasses section, but when I asked for a change, WDF were really supportive. I’m now working as a Replenishment Assistant and really enjoy it.
“In the morning, I liaise with the Beauty Consultants to find out what they need on the shop floor. I then collect the testers and gift packs from our stock room. I’m also responsible for deliveries that come into the terminal, ensuring that we always have the right level of stock available. There’s never a dull moment, because when I fill the shelves, I also get to meet and help the customers. If there’s one real challenge, it’s time management and prioritising different tasks, because there’s always so much going on at once.
I remember working in a high-street store in Crawley and the same people came every week! Here at the airport, it’s so different. It’s an amazing, buzzing environment and there’s a great vibe. I’m always meeting different people. And the team is just wonderful. Everyone was so welcoming and we all get on so well. There’s a great social life.”
